New Challenger

“It’s Bass!”

Roll gasped in surprise as she watched the news monitor in the lab. Along with her, the entire city watched in collective astonishment as Dr. Wily’s top gun became instantly locked in a battle against the huge invader.

“Why would Bass be helping us?” Roll asked.

Dr. Light paused in his work to glance up grimly. “I suspect it isn’t for us. Undoubtedly Dr. Wily doesn’t much appreciate the competition. He wants the land for himself, after all.”

Roll remained silent for a few moments. “But he is helping us, isn’t he?”

Dr. Light looked toward the screen. “In a way.”
