The evil Dr. Wily was just trying to get himself and Mother Brain into the Palace of Power. For the first time in his life, killing Mega Man was actually the last thing on his mind. So when Mega Man sacrifices himself to save his friends and the Palace, he takes everyone by surprise.
Mega Man had been a living machine, but now he’s reverted back to the ordinary robot he once was. Suddenly his friends realize how different he is now that he doesn’t have any feelings, emotions, or memories.
And the same thought is on all of their minds.
