MEGA MAN 7 PASSWORD CRACK

This password crack was made for the original SNES version of the game.

All of the following passwords give you 999 bolts.

Adding a weapon to a password means that the boss associated with that weapon will be defeated (of course).

If you design a password that contains normally-impossible situations (such as giving yourself the Noise Crush without having the Freeze Cracker), the game will play all right, but it will become confused and will give you invalid passwords until you rectify the unusual situation. (Invalid passwords are easy to spot as they usually contain large rows or groups of the same number.)

All grids are intended to be placed directly over an existing password. Asterisks indicate characters that should not be changed. Insert items into your password in the exact order that they appear on this page. Add means press Y, subtract means press B, as many times as written. Because the password numbers loop (going from 1 to 8 and then back to 1), this means that 8 + 1 = 1, and 1 - 1 = 8. In order to add 3 Energy Tanks, Weapon Tanks, or Beat Whistles to your password, enter the codes for both 1 and 2 of the item.

* * 8 *
? * * *
* * * *
Every time an 8 is shown in the second row row, third column of a grid, like this —>
change that digit to an 8. If it already was an 8, you must change it to a 1, then change the character at the location indicated by the ?: If ? = 6 change to 7; if ? = 7 change to 6. If ? = 2 change to 3; if ? = 3 change to 2. Only change the ? if the 8 was already in the password. Note: this means that four 8’s cancel each other out.
Here is the standard password:   1 7 5 5
                                 8 1 1 7
                                 6 4 1 6
                                 2 3 2 2
With this it is impossible to create a password that has
the Proto Shield, Noise Crush, Slash Claw, Wild Coil, or 1 2 5 5
Scorch Wheel without the first four bosses and the clown 8 1 1 6
at the robot museum being defeated. If you wish to have 3 4 4 6
any of these items, enter this password instead: 2 3 2 2

Below are some way-cool passwords that change the layout of the game. Try playing Mega Man 7 with one of these passwords instead of starting from the beginning; you’ll find it’s almost a completely different game!

This data was submitted to me by a person who asked to remain anonymous. I extend my thanks, though, for attempting to figure out such complicated password schemes! (The passwords that mess with the general order of the game rock!)
